Sheppard Grabs Second Straight WWS Title
Ending the 14th edition of the annual miniseries with three victory, Brandon Sheppard wrapped up his second straight Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout title.
Sheppard captured the biggest prize of week at FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway (Queen Creek, Ariz.) on Sunday, winning the $15,000 Shaw Trucking 50 finale along with a $10,000 bonus for his third victory of the miniseries.
“We had a lot of fun and it’s going to make our 25-hour drive home a lot easier,” said Sheppard following a successful start to the 2020 season. “It was a fun week. I wish we could’ve done a few things different. I know had a car to win every night. There were a view mistakes we made there in the middle of the week and early this weekend that put us behind a few nights, but we’re definitely very thankful for what we have and what we’ve won and what we’ve done this week.”
Sheppard never finished outside the Top-5 during the six-night miniseries. Brandon stood on the podium five times and finished fourth once, pushing his earnings for the week over $35,000.
Brandon Sheppard will return to the seat of Rocket1 when the Georgia-Florida Speedweeks kickoff with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.) on January 31 – February 1.
