Brandon Sheppard Lands Pair of Top-10’s in USRA Modified Action
Brandon Sheppard got behind the wheel of a Ramirez Motorsports United States Racing Association (USRA) Modified for a trio of events over the weekend.
Piloting the Ramirez Motorsports No. B5 Boomtest Well Service/ RAW Truck Wash/ Hugh Racing Chassis Modified, Sheppard kicked off the inaugural Modster Mash on Friday night at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kans.
For the 5th Annual Grant Junghans Memorial, issues in his heat race resulted in a tenth-place finish transferring Brandon to a B-Main for another shot at the opening night feature. Locking the Top-3 into the $10,102 A-Main, Sheppard fell just short with a fifth-place finish.
The following night at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kans., Brandon gained two spots in his heat race to finish second behind Johnny Scott. Starting eighth in the A-Main, Sheppard faded to a tenth-place finish at the checkers.
On Sunday, Brandon headed to Humboldt (Kans.) Speedway. Following an eighth-place finish in his heat race, Sheppard passed eight cars in his B-Main to grab the win. Starting the $5,000-to-win finale in 14th, Brandon improved eight spots in the 40-lapper to record a sixth-place outing.
