Brandon Sheppard
Pair of fourth-place finishes in Elkhorn 100 and Prairie Dirt Classic
Entering the Sheppard Riggs Racing No. B5 Late Model into battle with the XR Super Series, Brandon Sheppard was back in action on Monday afternoon at Off Road Speedway (Norfolk, Neb.) for the two-day Elkhorn 100.
Following a third-place finish in his heat, Sheppard raced to a sixth-place finish in his 25-lap preliminary feature.
With a B-Main victory on Tuesday evening positioning him on the sixth row for the $100,000-to-win Elkhorn 100 A-Main, Brandon charged forward eight spots in the 100-lapper to register a fourth-place finish. He followed Ricky Thornton Jr., Bobby Pierce, and Kyle Bronson across the line with Daulton Wilson coming in fifth.
On Friday, Sheppard returned with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series as the 33rd running of the Prairie Dirt Classic kicked off at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.). Splitting the 63-car field into four groups for preliminary features, Brandon qualified mid-pack before going ninth-to-third in his prelim.
Locked into the 10th-starting position for Saturday night’s $50,000-to-win Prairie Dirt Classic, Sheppard wheeled to his third consecutive top-five finish in the 100-lap affair with a fourth-place run.
Brandon is fifth in the latest World of Outlaws point standings.
