Pair of Top-5's in FALS Frenzy at Fairbury Speedway
Brandon Sheppard stayed close to home over the weekend with a trip to Fairbury (IL) Speedway for the two-day FALS Frenzy.
Against 40 MARS Late Model Championship entries, Sheppard advanced into Friday’s opener with a heat race win over McKay Wenger. Gunning for the $5,000 preliminary payday in the feature, Brandon climbed two spots in the 40-lapper to register a second-place finish. He joined race-winner Brian Shirley and Jason Feger on the podium.
On Saturday, Brandon backed up the third-fastest time in his qualifying group with a runner-up heat finish. Lined up on the third row for the $12,000-to-win FALS Frenzy, Sheppard steered to a fourth-place finish in the 50-lap finale.
